A native of North Carolina, Rusty Harmon began his career in the music industry 30 years ago managing Hootie & the Blowfish. The group had astounding success in its nearly 12 years under Harmon’s management tenure, selling more than 25 million records worldwide, with two number one albums, two Grammy Awards and the coveted Artist of the Year award from Billboard, World Music and Pollstar.
Harmon has successfully mounted campaigns for a wide variety of clients, including Billboard chart-toppers Colt Ford and Jason Michael Carroll, and has secured multiple label and publishing deals for clients under his direction. Rusty has served as the President of Atlantic Records imprint label, Breaking Records, and the President of Management for Average Joe’s Entertainment.
He is also responsible for securing and negotiating high-profile endorsement deals with companies such as Budweiser, ESPN, Disney, Nike, Adidas, Taylor Guitars, Gibson and more, resulting in over $15 million in sponsorship sales.
In 2016, along with business partner Will Edwards, Harmon founded independent record label Coppermine Music Group, based in Nashville, TN. With international distribution through The Orchard, CMG looks to enhance artists careers through digital and physical sales.
